Adopt a Donkey
When you visit the sanctuary you can help brush the donkeys and take photos with them. An adoption donation of EC$30 will help worm a donkey, assist with feed and vet fees.
You can sign up for "Donkey Tales" a bi-monthly newsletter to update friends on donkey life.
As well as donkeys you could also find yourself taking home a new puppy or kitten. The sanctuary welcomes persons to adopt a pet or even volunteer if you are unable to take a pet.
Take a look at the website link to find out more.
The sanctuary is run by the Antigua & Barbuda Humane Society Inc. Established in 1991, it is an animal welfare organization making a difference for all animals in Antigua and Barbuda through the prevention of cruelty and the protection of animals. The Humane Society is registered as a non-profit corporation.
The Antigua & Barbuda Humane Society operates Antigua’s Donkey Sanctuary which currently shelters more than 150 donkeys.
Its a great way to find out a bit more about life in Antigua and the "Adopt a Donkey" programme welcomes visitors to participate in the donkey care.
